Communities are encouraged to seek support from the location-based investment program

Seven of the Council’s regional committees are launching a call for candidates within the framework of the first cycle of the territorial investment program. Community groups and local organizations are encouraged to apply and make sure they don’t miss the various January 2022 deadlines.

The Scottish Government has allocated £ 1,963,000 in ring-fenced funding for the Place Based Investment Program for the current fiscal year.

The program aims to support investment projects that realize political ambitions such as downtown revitalization, community-led regeneration, 20-minute neighborhoods and community wealth creation, and are shaped by needs and the aspirations of local communities.

In September, members of the Council’s Economy and Infrastructure Committee agreed that an area-based approach would be taken to manage the Scottish Government’s Land Investment Program grant for 2021/22.

Economy and Infrastructure Committee Chair Cllr Trish Robertson said: “This zonal approach to spending the money across the geographic distribution of the Highlands that we have adopted offers a greater opportunity for project funding. local.

“I encourage anyone with a project that they believe could benefit from financial support to apply as soon as possible, as we expect demand to be high. “
