HIGHLAND WGC (Scotland) Ltd has announced that it will now be known as Capstone Construction following a rebranding exercise.
Founded in 2001, the business was acquired by Inverness-based investment group GEG Capital Ltd earlier this year.
MD Rhona Donnelly described the rebranding as a “significant step” in the company’s journey. She added: “The Capstone Construction name better expresses who we are as a business, our long history in the Highlands and the future vision for us and our board.
“In construction, Capstone refers to the stone placed at the top of a wall or building to mark the successful completion of a structure. Given our excellent track record of delivering bespoke and technically challenging projects for customers across the Highlands, we believe the name is appropriate and reflects the spirit and culture of the business as it is today.
“We have a young and ambitious team that has demonstrated adaptability and responsiveness and is keen to lead the business through this exciting new phase of its development. The rebrand allows us to look to the future, making the most of the synergies that exist within our parent group GEG Capital to better serve our highly valued clientele in the social, industrial and commercial housing sectors.
Capstone Construction operates as a stand-alone entity within GEG Capital, which supports the existing management team to target growth in the social housing, industrial and commercial construction sectors.
GEG Capital Director Jia MacKenzie commented: “Capstone Construction’s ambitious management team is already beginning to realize the potential we have identified in it, working with other companies in our portfolio such as Global Infrastructure and Mabbett where real synergies exist. This new identity really allows Rhona and her team to put their own stamp on an organization with a long history, but which is entering an exciting phase of growth.
Capstone Construction offers bespoke social housing projects in the Highlands, including 46 homes in Avoch for the Highland Housing Alliance and Cairn Housing Association, which was recently nominated for the Inside Housing and British Homes awards.
