NCB offers $33,000 in grants to two Hillsboro-based organizations

The National Cooperative Bank (NCB), a leading financial institution that provides banking products and services to Southern Ohio and nationwide co-operatives, their members and other socially responsible organizations, recently paid out $33,000 $ to two Hillsboro-based organizations.

Both organizations – Ohio Capital Finance Corp and Highland County Historical Society – are committed to serving low- and middle-income communities as well as providing support for local economic development.

National Bank Cooperative is proud to support the following organizations:

Search Fenner Village Apartments

• NCB provided $25,000 to Fenner Village Apartments, through Ohio Capital Finance Corp, a community development finance institution (CDFI) that provides affordable housing, to build a new playground on the property. NCB also plans to contribute and host community service events at Fenner Ridge once the project is complete. This can include social activities, financial education and maintenance of playgrounds.

CS Bell Mural and Trail, Hillsboro

• NCB also awarded $8,000 to the Highland County Historical Society to paint a mural on the side of the NCB office in Hillsboro.

The mural, designed by Pamela Kellough, serves as a tourism economic development project and communicates the importance of CS Bell, the largest manufacturer of Crystal Metal iron bells.

Organized by Tim Koehl, the project showcases the transition that has taken place in homes across North and South America with CS Bell’s mechanized iron grinders replacing stone grinding.

The National Cooperative Bank is pleased to support the initiatives of these organizations to promote their local community and promote economic development.
