A seminar on the book,[email protected] Dreams Meet Reality” took place on the campus of North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) here today.

The book is a compilation of chapters by eminent scholars and experts in the field who have written about the transformation brought about by Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the past 20 years.

Some of the eminent personalities who have contributed to the book include PV Sindhu, Amit Shah, Uday Kotak, Dr. Devi Shetty, Nandan Nilekani, Sadhguru, Sudha Murthy, Ajit Doval and many more.

Over 300 students from the university attended the seminar which was inaugurated by Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

During his speech, Sonowal recalled his days as a member of the North Eastern Student Organization (NESO) and how the region did not attract attention in Delhi. “All the people in the North Eastern states have suffered from the indifference of the people in power to the pain of the people of the region and their plight. All that has changed since 2014, when Modiji took over the leadership of the country, said he declared.

He said the North East is now being honored as the ‘Astalakshmi of India’ and the new growth engine of New India. “The honest effort of the government, at the behest of the Prime Minister, has slowly but steadily shed that spirit of alienation. We have always been proud citizens of India, but today we have been given the respect and the equal opportunity to be part of nation building,” he said.

The seminar was also attended by the Vice Chancellor of NEHU, Prof. Prabha Shankar Shukla, senior professors, researchers as well as professors from the university.
