Suspect arrested for stabbing man in Highland – San Bernardino Sun

A man has been arrested after an interview with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department regarding the stabbing death of a man in Highland last week, authorities said Monday, Aug. 22.

On Thursday, Aug. 18, sheriff’s deputies were called to St. Bernardine Medical Center in San Bernardino regarding a stabbing victim, the sheriff’s department said in a news release. The victim, who was identified as Joshua Naranjo, 34, died shortly after, sheriff’s officials said.

Investigators learned the stabbings took place at a gas station in the 26400 block of Highland Avenue, authorities said. The suspect in the stabbing has been identified as Scott Sanders, 42, sheriff’s officials said.

Sanders and Naranjo were described as passengers, according to the sheriff’s department.

Sanders was located around 8 a.m. the same day and taken to sheriff’s headquarters for questioning, authorities said. At 10:50 a.m., Sanders was arrested on suspicion of murder, according to San Bernardino County jail records.

He was being held without bond, sheriff’s officials said.

It was not immediately clear what the possible motive for the stabbing was.
